Redwood National Forest

While we were in California we took a detour over to the Redwood National Forest, a simply beautiful place on earth to enjoy! The enormous size of these trees really makes you feel small in this world. The history that you are standing beneath is amazing and the idea of the world these trees have been through.... is breathtaking. We did a full drive through the forest, stopped to enjoy a few trails and enjoyed a fun tourist stop.
What was fun is that Holly and I had read up on the Redwood's prior to leaving on our trip with a book we found together at the library. We talked about some aspects in school she is learning about, habitats and she got to see first hand what we learned. It was a great connection for school.

The Coast

We headed over to Crescent City for the day and enjoyed the Redwood National Park. While driving down the coast line we made a few stops to take in the beach and do a small walk. The weather was dry yet really foggy, very typical of coastal weather. The sun did eventually make her appearance... however, the fog gave the coast a bit of magical peace.

Train Fun

While on the road during a family vacation to the Redwood National Park and Disneyland we stopped at a great little park in Roseburg, Oregon. This park had the most amazing natural play structure and exploration area I have ever seen... not sure why I did not take any photos of it. I think it is because I was busy playing with Holly.
The park also had a great train for kids of all ages to explore. This train could be climbed upon from top to bottom, front to back - knobs pulled, levers moved and more. Best part... it was a real train! We spent a lot of time playing on the train, all of us. It was hard to get back on the road and leave this park!

Swinging in the Sun

Yesterday Holly enjoyed a home school science class at a local nature park. While she was in class Hudson & I had a good time at a nearby tot park. The sunshine was out, the temperature was warm and the swings were all ours! Hudson loves the swing... loves it!

Remlinger Farms

Friday we drove up to Remlinger Farms in Carnation to meet up with friends for a wonderful day of fall fun! We have visited this park one other time and loved it, so we could not pass up another fun day!
Remlinger Farms is a wonderful place that is full of several fall activities - hay jump, hay maze, children's carnival rides, a steam train, entertainment, farm animals, pumpkin patch and more! There is so much to do... we spent the whole day there, a very fun day!

Visitors In The Yard

Today we enjoyed yet another family of deer in our yard, we have a couple of different ones... feasting on the many apples from our broken apple tree. It was a wonderful treat to watch them for some time. There was a buck, doe and a baby deer. They were beautiful and Holly really enjoyed their visit!
