While we were in California we took a detour over to the Redwood National Forest, a simply beautiful place on earth to enjoy! The enormous size of these trees really makes you feel small in this world. The history that you are standing beneath is amazing and the idea of the world these trees have been through.... is breathtaking. We did a full drive through the forest, stopped to enjoy a few trails and enjoyed a fun tourist stop.What was fun is that Holly and I had read up on the Redwood's prior to leaving on our trip with a book we found together at the library. We talked about some aspects in school she is learning about, habitats and she got to see first hand what we learned. It was a great connection for school.
