Ballet Fun

This week Holly wrapped up her current Ballet/Creative Dance class - and she had a great time! This teacher was wonderful with the kids, she kept is fun and age appropriate yet had expectations on behaviour and managed it well. I was impressed! Holly is excited to get signed up again soon -now we are just waiting on the class registration time frame and we'll do round two.
In the meantime here a couple photos - most turned out blurry from her constant movement, oh well. I actually video taped the whole thing, that was my main plan - the camera was a last minute grab. Enjoy!

My Little Ballerina

Holly started a small dance class last night that features ballet & tap. It was sooo cute to watch 10 little 3 & 4 year olds bee-bopping around the class in their cute outfits.... a moment that just makes you go "Awe, so cute!". Her teacher is a young gal from a local high school who has been in dance since 3 years old and competes & performs a lot. She is cute - but, as you would suspect with a 17 year old gal - she is not 'kid' savvy... as in how in the world can I control 10 preschoolers. Which honestly is enough to put anyone over the edge. But, I think she did great!

Holly had a blast and is very excited to continue with it. I love it because she *really* has to listen and use some control - a great skill to learn. She will also have to work a bit on her calmness, not giddy excitement. If she tends to continue liking this we may eventually move her to a studio in the area - but for now this is a great way to see how she does, if she really likes it or if this is just a phase. I am hoping she likes it - what a graceful art!

My Little Ballerina

Little Miss Holly is in love with dance lately! In fact, she has asked to take a 'class of dancing like the Little Gym we used to do' as she puts it. So, we have been talking about dance a lot lately. I do have a few calls out on what kinds of programs exist for her age and we are narrowing things down some. Bryan and I would prefer something fun, not too pressuring and yet something she will learn a bit from. Most likely I will let her try out a summer program and see if it is still fun come the fall when the expectation is much higher. In the mean time -- she can prance around in her fun little attire and tap away in her new tap shoes! Here are a couple of unique photos to enjoy!
