Park Fun

Yesterday we spent several hours at the park with our good friends and cousin - it was a really nice day! The weather was amazing. The kids fed the ducks, we went for a walk, played on the big toy and then enjoyed a nice picnic in the shade. This is what summer days are meant for!

Roll Over

Hudson is rolling over now! He is growing and changing so much every day, it is wonderful and crazy all at the same time! Here are some shots of Hudson - 4 1/2 months old - practicing his prep and roll... well, landing that is.

Family Walk

Tonight after dinner we headed out for a family walk. It has been a week or two since we have been out for one, much to long for our tastes. Typically we do a family walk at least a couple times a week.... so this was a treat we have all missed!

I don't always bring along my camera, but once in a while I do. I like to capture some of those everyday moments we have in life... the ones that are normally overlooked. The camera is guaranteed to make it out for a special event, but the everyday stuff - we have to remind ourselves sometimes. Today was the day to bring along the camera and Holly loved it! She was asking for me to take photos of a lot of things, I did - but I'll only share a few here.
On our walk we were trying to slow down and take a peek at some nature along the way. We found pretty flowers, berries of all kinds (friendly and not friendly), mushrooms, a few nurse logs, a caterpillar, tons of birds and a rabbit. Part way through our walk we stopped at the playground for her to burn off some energy... then we headed back on our walk.

A wonderful evening!

Summer Has Arrived... Finally!

This Spring has been cold, wet and dreary... to put it kindly! Even for this seasoned Pacific Northwest native, I am done. I am ready for some sunshine on a regular basis, not just once every three weeks. Hopefully the time has arrived.

The past couple of days the sun made it's appearance and Holly finally got out to enjoy it! We have been shaking off an unpleasant cold in the family, have been indoors for the past couple of days - so, not only was time outside just really needed... sunshine was extra needed!

Lady Bug Release

Last night we spent time releasing lady bugs into Holly's garden. We took our time placing them on little leaves throughout the garden and enjoying them as they crawled up our hands. At the same time we explored the garden finding little treasures, including our very first ripe raspberry!

This was a very fun evening activity. These particular lady bugs were left over from an activity we hosted earlier today with friends - but, I am thinking I am going to make this a yearly tradition. We really enjoyed releasing them last year at Holly's birthday party and last night. Could make for a fun reason to bbq with friends and family at the end of each Spring!
